Complete gut renovation of an existing home that was previously used a police station up until the 1930's.  The original home featured a low sloped hip roof line with limited head height on the second floor and dropped ceilings on the first floor that didn't take advantage of the 10' celling heights.  Our solution removed the existing hip roof and installed a new steep pitched gabled roof line with a cottage aesthetic.  Re-framing the second-floor system with clear span engineered floor joists allowed us to provide a large open kitchen great room for contemporary living.
